EP Unny was born in Pallakad, Kerala and began his career with The Hindu in 1977 and went on to work with the Sunday mail and The Economic Times. He is now Chief Political Cartoonists with The Indian Express. His first cartoon was published in Shankar's Weekly in 1973. He has written and sketched a travel book on Kerala - 'Spices and Souls - A doodler's journey through Kerala'.
